Walter Block tells CNBC anchors that the roads should be privatized. Good for him. He makes a great presentation of the position. What's particularly funny to me is that anchor Brian Sullivan is in the screen shot. He doesn't say anything, while Dr. Block makes his case, but he does seem in shock. Sullivan is pretty much a major league supporter of government intervention. The other day, he was making the case for government control of CEO salaries.
The idea of privatizing roads would be way off his radar screen of what could be possible in the world. Dr. Block's type of principled presentation is exactly the type of pure libertarian position that needs to be advanced to light up firecrackers under the likes of Sullivan.
Email CNBC and tell them you enjoyed the piece. They are desperate for eyeballs these days. If they think Prof. Block brings more eyeballs to CNBC, they will book him again. I can't wait until they have Block back to discuss Defending the Undefendable and Defending the Undefendable II: Freedom in All Realms.
